Buying a Cheap Used Car As Your First Car

September 7th, 2011 Matt No comments

A cheap used car as you’re the first vehicle that you will own is not such a bad idea. You can get the car that you want at the right price. If you have been saving up for that car, why don’t you look at the prices of used cars and take a pick. Maybe the money you have saved up is so far is the cost of buying that car.

However before rushing into any deal or signing any papers, here is a checklist you need when making a choice. It’s important, because you never know why the previous owner is selling it in first place.

How old is the car that you want to buy? You can either ask the sales person, or better yet check on the car registration document. If the car you want turns out to be considerably old, get the mechanic to check it out and see if everything is still in good shape. Chances are high that you will need to replace a few things if the seller did not do so before putting it out for sale.

Refrain from settling for an old rugged vehicle that needs repairs because it is cheap. There are some good used cars out there on the market that you will find with the same price. It’s your first car, so take your time, take a test drive, take a mechanic with you and choose the car that you are most comfortable with. Once all that is out of the way, you can then start comparing or negotiating the price.

Tips on Buying Car Engines

August 24th, 2011 Matt No comments

It breaks our heart when someone bumps into our car, or when it doesn’t run as smoothly as it should. But whether your radiator heats up excessively or the engine rattles incessantly, you can get your car parts changed to have your car running as good as new, without having to buy a new one.

Usually when the need for changing car parts arrives, especially car engines, we tend to believe we need a new one. This calls for a major investment, as new engines don’t come cheap. There is, however, a more affordable alternative – buying used car engines. As long as you find parts that match the manufacturer, the make and the production year of your car, you can have your car running smoothly in no time.

Sometimes you can find used car engines for sale that are almost brand new. This is because vendors sell parts of cars wrecked in accidents that are still in working condition. These parts are, therefore, genuine and completely original. Besides, they are tested by experts before being brought into the second-hand market.

Buying first motorcycle? used 1996 Katana 600 help and advice please?

August 18th, 2011 Matt 3 comments

Question by Havedogplusabiker: Buying first motorcycle? used 1996 Katana 600 help and advice please?
Hi thanks for reading. Let me start of by saying I am 19 year old who only works part time and gonna attend my local college some time next year. I currently borrow my dad’s car and its time to get my own ride. I always loved motorcycles and decided to get one. Gonna ask about the MSF and gonna start reviewing for the dmv test. Ive been looking around for used motorcycles and came across this Katana 600 that is for sale for $ 1200. Right now I dont have any credit history so I have to buy full cash to a private seller. I know dealers need credit history and all that. I am wondering if this Katana is a good starter bike and if it is reliable. This is the sellers description ” 96 suzuki katana for sale runs great im just looking to get a newer faster motorcycle. This bike is perfect for a beginner rider because it has enough power to merge and keep up with traffic but not to much to get away from you really easily. The bike has been changed cosmetically as you can see in the pictures the owner before me cut the fairings to give it a street fighter look and the paint is just a spray paint black. The motorcycle has 24,093 miles on it. It does have alot of extra touches like the exhaust and flush mount blinkers along with other things”

I want to know if a Katana is a reliable bike? I looked at ninja 250s and 500s however the cheapest ones are like $ 2500. I get about 600 amonth from my work. Should I just save up for months and go for a newer bike? I am not in a hurry to buy I just opinions.

Answer by James
A 600 Katana is probably too much bike for a beginner. They are a reliable model. My one BIG concern is that bodywork is usually cut away due to crash damage, and there may be structural or mechanical damage to the bike. Spray painting a bike also destroys its resale value, and aftermarket stuff like blinkers and pipes do not add value. The mileage is fairly high. I would only consider this bike if it has already been certified by a mechanic. I would also want to see documentation of regular service such as oil and filter changes.

Since you have no knowledge of bikes or riding, take the MSF course FIRST. Then you will know better whether you want to tackle a 600 as a first bike.

Information Matters When Buying Used Cars For Sale By Private Owner

August 15th, 2011 Matt No comments

Buying used cars for sale by owner is not the same as buying a new car. When you buy a new car, it comes with the warranty of a manufacturer which is an established brand and promises to sell you stuff that they are responsible for. But when you buy Used cars for sale by private owner, there is no such guarantee. There are odds that the car might even break down the moment you go out of the garage. So what does one do? Well, information is the key in such circumstances.

The more you know about a vehicle, the better decision you are going to make about the purchase. This is why some people get a better used car than others and at a price which is much lower than the others. SO to make a good purchase we need to understand the rules of the game and then use them to our own advantage.

]]>

When buying cars for sale by owner, the odds are always stacked against the buyer. The seller will always have more information about the car. They will give you limited information or at worst misleading information to close the sale at the highest possible price. A diligent buyer however can pick up the clues from the car and from the seller and can make sense of the whole story. But this requires some amount of preparation at your end too.

For instance if you were buying an Used cars for sale by private owner and on inspection you saw shabby interiors. They were cleaned at the last minute but there is still a pungent odor of cigarettes smoke inside and the seller claims that the owner took perfect care of the vehicle. Should you believe them? Well, no! Stats show that interiors reflect the engine conditions of the vehicles because someone who is careless about the interiors probably missed services and hasn’t taken care of the car too much and is now selling it to you when the maintenance is going too high.

Buying Used cars for sale by private owner is much like going on a detective mission. They will give you a list of documents to show that they services the cars on time, there have been no accidents and the car is in good working condition. But you need to verify these documents for their validity before you consider them while deciding the price. Forged service documents are not difficult to make particularly if mechanic is just down the lane or a few blocks away.

The car speaks for itself and so do the actions of the owners. Sellers will involuntarily give signals that help you determine the true value of the car. Buying Used cars for sale by private owner can save you a lot of money if you make the right purchase. But you need to be careful and you must know how to seek out true information and ensure that it reflects in the price you pay.

We are the top seller for used car online. He have publish various articles in magazines to advice buyers while buying used cars for sale by owner which we feels is the correct thing to do to ensure lower prices.

Buying cheap used cars- Questions You Need to Ask

August 3rd, 2011 Matt No comments

When it comes to buying second hand cars, people are quite skeptical because they think these cars are not worth trusting. But if inspect the automobile closely and then buy it, you are sure to get a good car. There are lots of used cars for sale in the market and you should seriously considering buying one of them since they come at a really cheap price. The value for money offered by these cars too is really good.

The first question you need to ask yourself is what is my budget? I recommend a lot of people to buy cheap used cars if they are on a stiff budget. Before buying these used cars, get them thoroughly tested for any problems that the vehicle might have. I have purchased a few used cars in the past and I make usually test them by taking them for a long drive. This gives you an estimate about how good the engine is. If there are any weird noises emitted by the engine, then don’t buy the automobile as this is a sign of a defect.

]]>

The next question is – Is the price negotiable? I recommend people to bargain hard while buying these used cars. The prices of these automobiles are negotiable and you have to be really good at bargaining to get the best deal. The asking price of the car is just asking price and nothing else. If you don’t bargain, you will lose a lot of money.

The last question is what more can I get from the car? Some cars are covered with insurance and if you are buying such a car; make sure you get all the documents while purchasing. Many people ignore this, then realize it later and spend frustrating moments making trips to the dealer. Also look if the car has some added features.

Finally, make sure you visit a lot of dealers to check who has the best used car in his inventory. If you talk with just one dealer, you will never get to know about the variety that the market has to offer.

Resource box – www.onlinecarhub.com is a sea of old second hand cars and you must visit this site if you are looking for used cars for sale. If you are in the market t buy cheap used cars it is really important that you make a thorough inspection of the vehicle before you open your check book or else a lot of money will be wasted.

Ana Watson – from my child hood, I am having interest in the cars. i like to explore the technology behind them. Hence, many times I purchase second hand cars to fulfill my hobby. While purchasing any brand new or used cars, my friends want my advice. I have written many blogs and articles which are issued on the internet.

Buying Really Cheap Used Cars Is Simple

July 27th, 2011 Matt No comments

Finding a way to buy really cheap used cars does not have to be hard.  You just need to look in the right places to land the best deal.  If you want to use the method favored by owners of used car lots, then you need to check out vehicle auctions.

Where do you think used car lot owners get their vehicles?  Sometimes, they purchase vehicles from private owners that no longer need their car.  Other times, they acquire cars and trucks in a trade.  But most of the time they find the best deals at auctions.

Why spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a used car by purchasing through a dealership?  If you can locate some vehicle auctions, you might actually have a chance at purchasing a great used car for pennies on the dollar.  The biggest problem is that most people don’t know where orwhen these auctions happen.  That’s when you might need to call in some help.

There are tons of websites that list information about auctions and sales where you can buy really cheap used cars.  But you can’t trust everything that you read.  Make sure that the website is not simply listing the sales of one company – if it is, then this company probably operates the site and is using it as a way to reel you in.

As long as you are able to find some credible information about local auctions, you should be in business.  You should look at the website of your local Department of Motor Vehicles to see if they post information about auctions in your area – that’s always a great place to start.

If you are looking for the absolute best deal on a good quality used car, then you should be visiting vehicle auctions frequently.  Even though the process is not difficult, buying used cars in auctions still involves a few steps.

So, here is a quick guide.
Step 1 – Find a local vehicle auctionLook through the classified ad section or the public announcement section of your local newspaper to find vehicle auctions in your area.  You might also have luck at estate sales where all of the possessions of someone who has died will be auctioned off.  Sometimes vehicles are sold at these events as well.

Step 2 – Set your priceDon’t go into a vehicle auction without knowing how much you are willing to spend.  Buying used cars at auctions can be an exciting event and you don’t want to get carried away.  Take a look at what is available at the auction and decide the maximum that you will spend and never go past that maximum.

Step 3 – Check it out before you purchaseEven if the company running the auction assures you that a vehicle is in great shape, you should always have a chance to check it out first.  Something as simple as watching someone put the key into the ignition and turning the vehicle on can give you proof that it works.  However, from time to time you might run across an auction that involves a car being sold “as is”.  Most of the time, this means that the car is not in the best shape.

Always use caution when you are involved with an auction that involves an item being sold “as is”.

Keep your mind on these three important steps and buying used cars should be a breeze.
